Schmidt & Stanway was co-founded by two golfers and long time friends that were ready to shake up the sportswear industry. They believe that every golfer deserves clothing that not only performs on course but makes a statement on the streets. They’re more than just a clothing line; they are a lifestyle brand made up of like-minded individuals who share a mutual love for golf and fashion.

The Challenge
They were looking to disrupt the market with a bold new look that would break away from the standard clothing seen on the course. They respect the games heritage, but they were not afraid to push the boundaries. Their aim was to challenge conventions, celebrate individuality and to trail blaze a movement without losing the essence of what makes golf truly special.
The Solution
During the research phase we quickly established that the creative direction would be based on black letter typography inspired by hip-hop culture in California. This aesthetic embodies the rebellious nature of the brand and provides a style that adapts to every moment. In our early conversations, the clients expressed a clear ambition to lead the way in the golf apparel industry and to inspire a younger generation to get into the game. Proud to represent this shift, Schmidt & Stanway embraced the idea of flying the flag for modern golf. With that in mind, I created a logo that subtly incorporates a golf flag within the ‘S’ shape, establishing a symbol that captures both their identity and their mission.
